Framtidsland (Futureland)

Three land pieces showing scenarios of mega cities, ecogenetic garden, green country wave

Framtidsland invites visitors to imagine a world where climate change has been halted. What would Sweden—and the planet—look like in the year 2099 if we succeed in limiting global warming to 1.5°C, in line with the Paris Agreement?

This project called for a solarpunk palette that could evoke the feeling of a new dawn, or dusk, of the future. To capture that atmosphere, I created a CSS sun element with a hard-light effect and used a gradient sky background for the entire site. Storytelling was another important part, so I used distinctive drop caps to bring the narrative forward. To anchor the scenarios, I designed bookmark-style icons that served as their visual markers. The scenario visualizations were first modelled in 3D and then rendered as still images. Framtidsland and the visualizations have since been featured at the Museum of Natural History in Stockholm.
